Spring Setup: Refreshing Your Style for the Season
March 20th marks the first day of Spring; for me, it’s one of the most exciting times of the year.
Coming from Brazil, where Winter doesn’t quite compare to what we experience in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, the long, cold months can feel endless. That’s why when the warm weather finally starts rolling in, I can’t help but feel energized.
Spring is a time of regrowth—more light, vibrant colors, and beautiful flowers like tulips popping up everywhere. It’s an inspiring season that brings people together for outdoor gatherings, celebrations, and simple moments of joy.
Fun fact about me: When I moved to the U.S. in 2018, my daily commute took me through downtown Boston. I used to get off the train a few stations before Fenway just so I could walk and see the Spring flowers. Sometimes, I would even FaceTime my mom to show her how gorgeous the season was. I moved to the U.S. on April 1st, so my first memories here are filled with the beauty of Spring—a season that still brings me so much joy today.

With all this excitement, I want to help you prepare for the season in a way that makes dressing effortless—so you can spend more time enjoying life and less worrying about what to wear. Having a closet that truly works for you makes every day easier, and I love helping people create that sense of ease and confidence in their wardrobes.
Here’s how to get your wardrobe ready for Spring:
1. Store Winter clothes the right way
As you swap out Winter pieces for Spring and Summer clothes, make sure everything you’re putting away is clean and in good condition. The last thing you want is an unpleasant surprise next Fall when you pull out your coats and sweaters and find stains, musty smells, or damage. Properly storing your Winter wardrobe now will save you trouble later.
2. Assess your Spring wardrobe
When bringing out your Spring and Summer pieces, check if everything is still wearable. Look for holes, signs of wear, or anything that doesn’t fit how you want it to. This is also a great time to evaluate what feels outdated or no longer resonates with you. If a piece doesn’t bring you joy or align with your current style, consider donating it to someone who will use it better.
3. Purging is always necessary
Even if you’ve been mindful about your wardrobe, there will always be things to let go of—and that’s completely natural. Life is full of cycles, and we evolve into new versions of ourselves with each transition.
Think about how different phases of life impact your style: finishing college, becoming a mom, starting a new job, going through a divorce, or having children leave home. If your closet doesn’t adjust along with you, it won’t reflect who you are in the present moment. Regularly purging, reassessing, and updating your wardrobe ensures that your clothes support the life you’re living now.
4. Refresh your closet with a purpose
Once you’ve cleared out what no longer serves you, look at what’s missing. What would make your wardrobe feel fresh and exciting again? Creating a small shopping list of intentional pieces can help bring new energy into your style without overwhelming your closet.
If you’re feeling stuck or want to try something new, sometimes an outside perspective can be helpful. Stepping out of your comfort zone and experimenting with fresh ideas can be exciting—you might discover styles you love but never considered before! I love helping people find new ways to make their wardrobe feel more like them so they can feel even more confident in their daily life.
5. Be ready for Spring events
Spring also means a season full of events—weddings, gatherings, and celebrations. It's always a great feeling to have outfits ready to enjoy these moments without the stress of last-minute wardrobe dilemmas. Keeping key pieces in place now will allow you to create beautiful memories instead of worrying about what to wear. If you need guidance in putting together a wardrobe that works effortlessly for your lifestyle, I’m always happy to help.
Spring is a time of new beginnings, and refreshing your style can be wonderful. Whether it’s making small updates, letting go of what no longer serves you, or simply finding joy in what you wear, the most important thing is that your wardrobe supports you in living your best life—confident, comfortable, and true to yourself.
