Backstage at Michael Kors Fall 2025: Chic, Relaxed, and Effortlessly Cool
Back at NYFW posts, I know I am late with them, but life happened. I still plan on posting all of it, so stick around!
When I received my New York Fashion Week lineup in late January and saw that I’d be working backstage at Michael Kors, I was beyond excited. As a stylist, I love seeing collections come together up close, and this one? I would wear every single piece. It was chic, wearable, and effortlessly stylish—exactly the kind of fashion that feels as good as it looks.
The Magic of Backstage
The energy backstage at any fashion show is always thrilling, but Michael Kors's Fall 2025 had a special kind of ease. Everything flowed so seamlessly, from the final styling touches to the models stepping onto the runway.
And right at the entrance? Michael Kors himself. I tried my best to play it cool, but let’s be honest—seeing a designer of his caliber standing just a few steps away is pretty surreal.
Dressing Model 42: A Perfect Match
For this show, I dressed Karolina Spakowski (Model 42); her look was my absolute favorite of the entire collection. What made it even more special? Her green eyes perfectly matched the shade of green in the outfit—it was like the look was made for her. As a color analyst, I know it's always so powerful to wear colors present in your overall features, especially for folks with colored eyes. That’s what I love about styling; sometimes, the right color, person, and moment align so effortlessly.
A Collection That Feels Like New York
If I had to describe this show in one word, it would be "easy." Everything about the collection was polished yet relaxed, elevated yet wearable. Kors summed it up in an interview when he mentioned the French word "dégagé"—which means undone and effortless—but he made it clear that New Yorkers have mastered this style naturally.
The show was filled with soothing monochromes in caramel, chocolate, graphite, and bottle green. Luxurious textures like cashmere, silk georgette, broadcloth, and brushed alpaca made every piece feel as comfortable as it was elegant. The collection wasn’t about making a statement—it was about making life easier while looking incredible doing it.
Final Thoughts
There’s something special about working backstage at a show where you connect with the fashion on a personal level. Michael Kors Fall 2025 was that for me—pure, effortless luxury that I’d love to have in my own wardrobe. Even in backstage chaos, being part of that moment reminded me why I love fashion so much.
And trust me, I’ll dream about those pieces until next season. 😉
