Fashion, trends, and personal style

It’s a beautiful summer day, and I am so excited for NYFW next week that I decided to write about trends today.

I see trends like a mirror. Life changes. Trends often are a reflection of shifting societal norms. We are inundated with information every day and there is always something new out there.

I want today to make sure that you will embrace some of the trends for Fall but still have your style and personality speaking louder than pure trends.

My advice for you is that before you purchase a trendy item, ask yourself:

1 - If this item wasn’t a “must have” right now, would I still wear it?

2 - Is that aligned with my style so I can pair it with everything else I own?

3 - Will I still want to wear it next Fall when people will no longer be crazy about it?

In conclusion, if you want to look unique and remarkable, you don’t want to buy the item you see in everyone, everywhere.

When you do, own it! Do it under your rules, adding your personal flavor to it.

What is a trend that died that still fits your style today? Is there a trend you bought into that is old and stale and sits in your closet unworn?
